This vintage administration desk is constructed from solid oak and durable blonde timber veneers. A striking nod to mid-century public service design. A vast faux-leather writing inlay defines the expansive top workspace, framed neatly by wide, mitred timber borders.
Two deep, suspended drawers flank the generous kneehole space. Square, tapered legs elevate the robust silhouette, providing ample stability without cluttering the floor space.
Government-contracted furniture from the 1950s through to the 1970s prioritized longevity above all else. Local workshops manufactured these pieces to withstand grueling institutional use, selecting dense Australian timbers and heavy-duty hardware that bypassed flash trends.
