Thonet Australia is a leading furniture brand known for its timeless design, quality craftsmanship, and innovative approach. Established over 150 years ago, Thonet has built a reputation for producing elegant, functional furniture, blending traditional techniques with modern innovation. The company draws on its European heritage, tracing back to Michael Thonet, who revolutionised furniture making with his bentwood technique in the 19th century.
Today, Thonet Australia focuses on creating furniture that enhances contemporary spaces, offering products for residential, commercial, and hospitality environments. They prioritise sustainability by using responsibly sourced materials and durable designs that stand the test of time. Thonet’s collection includes iconic designs as well as contemporary collaborations with Australian and international designers, ensuring relevance in today’s interiors.
The company’s commitment to craftsmanship, design excellence, and environmental responsibility makes it a trusted choice for architects, designers, and customers seeking enduring quality. Thonet’s blend of heritage, innovation, and modern design continues to shape its identity and influence the Australian design landscape.
Through adaptability and a focus on quality, Thonet Australia remains a symbol of both classic elegance and forward-thinking design. Their legacy and contemporary vision come together to create furniture that is both beautiful and functional.
As a social enterprise your purchase with Green Collect enables meaningful employment opportunities for people facing complex barriers to work, and furthers our environmental mission toward a world without waste. Our range of quality ergonomic furniture is sourced from our local and corporate partners.
Contact our team at hello@greencollect.org, and we can check if this is currently available for viewing in our Braybrook showroom.
We cannot guarantee that every item can be available to view in our showroom, and will bring things down from our warehouse only in case-by-case scenarios and with more than 48 hours notice.
As we are a proud secondhand and reuse retailer, some marks or scuffs will naturally occur on furniture, as evidence of their long lifespan so far. Our processing team do our best to minimise marks and ensure items are function and quality tested. We aim to document all marks on items in the website photos or item descriptions.
