How to keep it crafty these school holidays!

How to keep it crafty these school holidays!

We know school holiday stress can be all consuming, so we've put together a list of our favourite upcycled activities to keep little ones of all ages entertained, sustainably.

  1. Have a dress up day!
The most sustainable option is using the clothes you already own! Pull out the cupboards and host a fashion show with mixed pieces from all the folks in the family. It's fun, free and the best part is you can identify clothes you haven't worn in a while and experiment with them. Find clothes that no longer fit? You can donate clothing to Green Collect free of charge and receive a 10% off offer for your next visit!

  2. Reuse supplies for endless ideas.
With a little imagination, you can upcycle ordinary colour paper into beautiful bookmarks. Spare cords and mixed computer parts can be glued together and turned into little monsters. DVDs and tapes are just big Lego blocks to make bigger towers with! No matter the resource, there is an untapped idea waiting to be explored. Want to stock up your stationery supplies ahead of time? Our Braybrook store is home to secondhand and salvaged stationery goods, at a fraction of retail prices. Saving landfill and saving your wallet, all at the same time.
  3. Scrapbrooking sustainably!
Our upcycled notebooks are the perfect canvases for the budding artist in your life, and scrapbooking is a fun activity that doesn't require too much prep work. Using any old materials you have at home (magazines, catalogues, junk mail or even packaging) let your little artist explore - safely, of course. Some parental guidance recommended.
